My Pleasure Reading (1-52 pp.)

The main life goal of Mrs. Bennet, the mother of five growing daughters, was to make them married and it became more feasible after the news about a new neighbour. A single man, Mr. Bingley, in possession of a good fortune settled not far from the Bennets and was “attacked” by different misters and misses who wanted him to become their son-in-law. And in the ball the young ladies were happy to dance with him, however, he danced twice only with Jane Bennet. His friend, Mr. Darcy, found it as a strange, boring waste of time without his favorite intellectual discussions. One of the Bennets’ daughters Elizabeth heard Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy’s dialogue, in which the first told how he liked Jane and the second said that Lizzy is not handsome enough to tempt him. Mrs. Bennet was so happy about Jane and wanted her to continue the communication with possible husband and, likely, his sisters invited Jane to Mr. Bennet’s house. It was awful weather, however, under the mother’s instance Jane went and as a result she became ill. Next day Lizzy visit her and stayed there to take care of Jane. During her present in the house she usually communicated with Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley and his sisters. The latest disapprove of all her action and gossiped bur Mr. Darcy began to be interested in Elizabeth but his reserved character did not let him to show it. Later Jane got better and Mr. Bingley promised her mother and sisters Kitty and Lydia, who came to visit Jane, to organize the ball in his house.

  1. Julia's choice is very good. I read this book too and it left a good impression on me. I advise you to watch the film with Keira Knightley's participation. I liked the film not less than book.
