Jane and
Elizabeth were back home and made their mother disappointed about that, she
wanted Jane to spend more time with Mr. Bingley. At that time Mr. Bennet
received a letter from Mr. Collins, who was the heir of the Bennets’ estate.
The letter told about his intention to visit Longbourn and make amends to the
young ladies. He came and explain that the amend is marriage to one of the them.
Firstly he chose Jane, but after Mrs. Bennet’s explanation about Jane’s future
probable engagement, he changed his mind to Lizzy. One evening Jane was introduced
to Mr. Wickham, and she spent all evening with him talking about Mr. Darcy. Mr.
Wickham told how awfully the latter acted with him and opened all Mr. Darcy’s
secrets. Then in the Netherfield’s ball Jane had to dance and have unpleasant
conversation with Mr.Darcy. However later, Miss Bingley tried to make clear
that the latter not so a bad person as Lizzy thought. Next day after the ball
Mr. Collins made a proposal to Elizabeth but she rejected him, even Mrs. Bennet’s
instructions did not force her change the decision.
Well done!
